Structural Assembler


Responsible for the assembly and construction of structural components and systems used in aircraft part MFG industries. This role involves interpreting blueprints and schematics, using a range of tools and machinery, and ensuring that all components are assembled to precise specifications and high-quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assembly of Structural Components:
    • Assemble structural components and systems according to detailed blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
    • Utilize hand tools, power tools, and machinery to cut, fit, and fasten components.
  • Blueprint and Technical Documentation:
    • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and assembly instructions to determine the correct assembly procedures.
    • Verify dimensions and alignment to ensure accuracy and compliance with specifications.
  • Quality Control:
    • Inspect assembled components and structures for defects or inconsistencies.
    • Perform measurements and tests to ensure the integrity and functionality of assembled products.
  • Tool and Equipment Maintenance:
    • Operate and maintain tools and equipment used in the assembly process.
    • Report any malfunctions or needed repairs to ensure equipment is in proper working condition.
  • Safety Compliance:
    • Follow all safety guidelines and protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
    • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhere to safety procedures to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Team Collaboration:
    • Work closely with other team members, engineers, and supervisors to ensure timely and accurate assembly.
    • Communicate effectively to address any issues or changes in assembly procedures.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
    • Maintain accurate records of assembly processes, parts used, and completed work.
    • Report any discrepancies or issues to supervisors and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.

Job Description

  • Job Type: Full-time
  • Pay: $22.00 – $35.00 per hour
  • Expected hours: 40 per week
  • 8 hour shift, In person
  • Monday through Friday
  • Overtime pay
  • Work location: San Antonio, TX 78217

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years experience
  • Must have knowledge of drilling, reaming, riveting, sealing and hi-lock installation.
  • Possess own tools, ability to use tools and machines to perform tasks.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or vocational training is a plus.
  • Proven experience as a structural assembler or similar role in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Strong understanding of blueprints, technical drawings, and assembly procedures.
  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and assembly machinery.
  • Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations in a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physical stamina and dexterity to handle various assembly tasks and lift heavy materials.

Working Conditions

  • May require standing for extended periods, lifting heavy objects, and working in potentially noisy or challenging conditions.
  • Compliance with all safety protocols and use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory.
